He is a professor at the University of Lille and a member of the French Water Academy. He was vice-president &#8220;Research&#8221; of the University Lille1 and director of the &#8220;Civil Engineering and Geo-Environment Laboratory&#8221;. He is also strongly involved in economic development and international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the last 10 years, he has focused his academic activity on sustainable and smart cities with the implementation of large-scale pilot projects of smart infrastructures (water, energy, ..) and buildings.<br>His academic activity has resulted in about 170 journal articles and the supervision of<br>100 PhD theses. He has given more than 50 lectures on topics related to the sustainable city<br>the smart city and the resilient city, including two TEDx talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, he has been engaged in writing a series of comic books<br>on the city and its sustainable and smart transformation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This conference, with its important added value for the future of our society, has generated important exchanges and reactions.
