The "Institut Supérieur du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics" is a post graduate specialisation school in civil engineering (Master Plus). Founded in 1952, the Institute was recognised by the French Ministry of Education in 1955. ISBA-TP has been since October 1976 part of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Marseille Provence, under the supervision authority of the French Ministry for Industry and the French Ministry for Education. All students attending the courses have already an Engineering Degree (M.Sc. level). The training is one year long and it aims at completing the knowledge acquired in engineering school. About thirty students are registered each year. Ten to twelve are foreign students coming from African French speaking States. ISBA-TP delivers an Engineer Diploma or a Master Diploma in civil engineering.

The ISBA-TP opened in 1953  with the financial support of the french civil engineering organisations.

As all "Grandes Ecoles", ISBA-TP endeavours to achieve the three following goals :

    • Initial training of specialisation in civil engineering (third cycle) 8
    • Services to companies, construction manager and project owners
    • Research.

Part of ISBA-TP, the FORMISBA cell is in charge of continuous training activities. The Institute is registered as a continuous training center under the number 93 13 O 182 413, and since 2000, FORMISBA has been certified ISO-9001 by D.N.V. FORMISBA develops continuous training programs based on principles and on methodology that will significantly contribute to improve the competence of professional engineers in the south east of France.
